Charming Bauhinia

I made this artwork recently. The title is called "Charming Bauhinia". It is painted by arcylic on cardProxy-Connection: keep-alive

ard. The cardboard is sprayed by blue, black and white color before I paint the symbols on top of that to produce a feeling of the universe.

My concept of this creative project comes from the bauhinia on the regional flag and the city flower of the Hong Kong SAR. I transform the 5 petals into symbols representing architecture, industrial and commerce, eating culture, entertainment and leisure, and transporatation and logistics. It shows the development and improvement of Hong Kong in different areas by presenting both the new and old, both existing and replaced elements.

The shining bauhina is emitting light and heat in the universe. This represents Hong Kong remains its properity with the co-operation and effort of the hardworking Hong Kong people. It remains its charm in an international context. I have made some visual elements to project to the outer space. This represents Hong Kong's creativity, modernity, vitality.
