Make Your Own Seasonings!

Make Your Own Seasonings!

I stumbled across this post today - looks like a great thing to keep in mind for when we are overseas! You don’t realize how much you take for granted the pre-mixed spices you can find in the US, such as taco seasoning, until you’re in another country that doesn’t MAKE tacos, and you have no idea what to use!

(Along those same lines, the other day Tim found a recipe on another site for making your own chili powder, which we will definitely remember for when we’re back in Spain. Can’t find chili powder there, either!)

With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, I think I will definitely be using the pumpkin pie spice recipe pretty soon. Like, later on today. There is a pumpkin spice latte recipe we’ve been longing to try, so what better reason? At a grocery store last night, I noticed a rack of holiday baking items, and was shocked to see how much they are charging for less than an ounce of pumpkin pie spice. No need to buy that when you can make your own! It’s always fun - and more cost effective - to make things from scratch.

Enjoy the seasoning recipes, even if you don’t live outside the US!
