Tasty Breakfast N Some English Movies

Don’t know some years are just for those workaholics 24/7/365. Every possible festival and national holiday falls inevitably on a Saturday or a Sunday. So Diwali this year was on a weekend! I used to work for an organization which gave a day off for holidays which fell on a weekend. So if I was still working with them this month, the Friday before the Diwali Saturday would have been a holiday, stretching the weekend to 3 whole days and therefore looooooong.

I had a pollution-free Diwali ‘technically’ this year. No firecrackers n diyas, thus avoiding air n noise pollution Yipeeeeeeee!! Nevertheless, I enjoyed others doing it (:P). No Rangolis either; but was surprised to see that the intricate designs come custom made. And look at me! I was in awe of all those Sallis of mine who drew a Rangoli in front of their doors during Dussehra. I went berserk, O my god, O my god!! It created mixed feeling inside me, pride (of course) and a little distraught; I wouldn’t have married into such a talented artistic family where every daughter of a nuclear family (distant or close relation) was an expert at Rangolis – in selecting and drawing designs, colour combinations and mergers and flawless at that!!! Now I know. Next year here I come. Haaaaaaaa!!

Diwali this year was all about tasty breakfasts and English movies.

Coconut chutneys with the right amount of green/red chillies to make it hot with mini uttapams straight from the gas to dip into it and steaming hot sambar (ahhha). Sausages, eggs, strong coffee (my way) n pancakes. I wouldn’t have minded a nicely fried chicken leg or two. For that and more, I need to run home.

And Sunday was all about Indiana Jones: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Evan Almighty, The Superhero Movie, Transformers, A Cindrella Story and Parent Trap and a little bit of Tom n Jerry.
