The Case Of The Red Chair

What is so special about the colour Red especially in combination with a piece of furniture like the chair which makes it The Red Chair.

The Reliance Big TV ads initially came out with ads featuring only a large cosy red chair. There was a Red Chair featured in the Realty TV Big Bosss in their confession room. Vipul Amruthlal Shah’s London Dreams (2009) is also about that Red Chair — a taller version this time, slightly slimmer too with curved edges. Arujn (Ajay Devgan) is caught in his pensive moods in that Red Chair. The chair surfaces so many times in the movie (avoid if possible, it just reminds you of how good Rock On (2008) was) that I was looking out for every red chair n anything in red I had come across in recent years.

So I racked my brains, flipped through TV Channels and came out with this list. Red is prominently in logos, sidebars, N backgrounds, phrases, moods, everyday stuff. So here goes (not many but a few), and with inputs from all of you we can make a Red Dictionary of sorts:p

1.CNBC Awaz (Hindi News Channel) airs a programme, The Big M Show...features our Red Chair.

2. Times Now, the News Channel has a Red n Blue decor.

3. Zee, Star Plus has nothing red about them, but Sony has a dash of red in its logo.

4. Mostly all the Turbans worn by the actors on celluloid are red or a combination which has red.

5. How can we forget the Red Carpets. It is everywhere.
